This is my ferret, Obi. And poor Obi… when I first introduced him to Mister Spooky, he was either scared or really MAD. He made this horrible quacking noise. But today, I am proud to report that Obi no longer quacks with Mister Spooky. It was just this first day they met. Yay for Obi!

My ferrets (i have 4) when i cant find em i squeak one of there (MANY) squeaky toys and they all come running outa nowhere 
but when they reach the toy…they clamp their little teeth on it, wont let go for nothing in the world, wait for ME to let go, and i dont see it again for another month… My Bandit has em hidden ALLLLL over the house. But my ferrets dont get distressed when they hear it, they actually get really playful and start doing the War Dance. LOL

I was given a 2 yr old ferret and told it would respond to a squeeky toy but I dont like to use it unless I cant find her because she seems quite upset by it, and reacts very strongly. Never heard that noise before though.

SOME ferrets think a squeaky toy sounds like a ferret in distress, most of my guys don’t act distressed but my frien’s got one who acts like that and attacks trying ot help the distressed “ferret”

That’s a very young ferret. What you’re hearing is a young kit’s cry. It’s not that he doesn’t like the sound it’s that he thinks it’s another ferret in distress. I had one ferret years ago that would run up hissing and biting my toes if I squeezed a similar sounding toy.
