we actually were just given another little boy. So we’re currently owned by 6 of the little fur-nados.

Thats awsome good to see some people rescueing animals instead of buying new ones. =)

I used to look after a couple of ferrets kept outdoors at a natural science animal rehabilitation center
local zoo we had in town,
one was named ‘Squeaky’,
funny little things.

the most we paid for a ferret was $129 at Petco. We’ve only bought one from a pet store. 2 we were given. 2 we bought/rescued from feed/livestock stores. 2 we adopted from a ferret shelter back in phoenix and one i bought off of craigslist for $50. The ones from the shelter we got for $50 a piece as well. It’s important to have a good vet that knows ferrets. they are pretty high maint and do have a lot of disease that can shorten thier little lives.

I’m glad to see some information videos to help educate potential ferret owners. We have 5 ferrets currently and of the 8 we’ve had 7 were rescues.

Best ferret foods have 38% or higher crude protien. Do not use cat food. too many fillers and non meat protien ingredients.

Do ferrets bury their poop like cats does?

Ooh btw, their cages if outside cat litter stuff works best to soak up fluids such as their wee lol, small amount, it might go somewhere, they eat lots but fill the bowl every 2-3 days. Water once a day, and I would clean them out about two-three a week :)
PS: they need lots of space, they are hyperactive mammels when they are awake

They do have a small odor. In HOB ferrets which is an male ferret it can be a horrid smell. Yet if you get a neutered one this will be less of a problem. I think you should get one they are loads of fun,

Sorry but when I read you comment I just had tot react: You CAN’T have their scent glands removed cause if you do , they get tumors and it’s not natural for the little animal. So please read this and do not remove their glands.
